History of Homecare

Middlesex Hospital Homecare is proud to have a rich heritage. Founded in 1900 by a group of concerned residents who had heard of the work of visiting nurses in several large eastern cities, the Middlesex District Nurse Association made over 3,000 home visits to patients in Middletown and Portland in its very first year.

Today, Middlesex Hospital Homecare makes over 160,000 visits yearly to Connecticut residents throughout Middlesex County and beyond.
