Nurturing Family Network

Provides screening, assessment, parenting education and support services for all first time families through the Nurturing Families Network Home Visiting. Through Nurturing Connections, services are offered to all first time families residing in Middlesex County and delivering at Middlesex Hospital. The goal of the program is to assist in transition to parenthood and reduce the risk of child abuse and neglect. Through a universal record screen, those scoring at low risk are offered vital health care information including community resources and follow-up by a trained volunteer. Those scoring higher risk on the universal record screening are offered contact with an assessment worker for additional screening. Families assessed to be at higher risk are offered intensive home visitation by a Family Support Worker.
